Volunteers at the Society of St. Vincent dePaul manage every aspect of our work.  

Opportunities to help:

We need volunteers in every activity!  If you are interested in any of these areas, call our Thrift Store and speak with the manager or one of our current Society members:

  • Thrift Store Receiving Area:  Sorting, pricing and displaying clothes and other merchandise.  Whether you can come in once a week or once in awhile we can put you to work here!
  • Donation Pick-up:  Sometimes we have donors who would like to give us items but are unable to bring them to the Thrift Store.  We don't always have the volunteer-power to make this happen.  If you have a truck and would be willing to be "on call" for item pick up we could use you!
  • Data Entry Expert:  Are you great at entering items in the computer?  Are you versed in the program Excel?  We would love to have your help on a temporary or ongoing basis.
  • Social Media:  Are you a whiz at facebook, instagram, maintaining websites or even Craigslist?  We could use a volunteer to manage our social media and help us get the word out about the important work that we do!
  • Help for Those in Need:  Do you have a special talent for accounting, law, insurance or counseling?  Would you be willing to help someone write a resume or start a job search?  At the Society of St. Vincent dePaul, we are interested in helping people beyond just giving them a handout.  Assignments like this may be part of an ongoing program or just a one time meeting.  If you might be good at this sort of project, give us a call!
  • Prayer Practitioners:  Not sure how you might be able to help?  Are you unable to commit to a regular volunteer job?  We would still love to have your help!  Our Prayer Practitioners volunteer to keep the Society, it's members and the work we do in their regular prayers.  Additionally, Prayer Practitioners attend the regular meetings of the conference when they are able.  These meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at the Thrift Store.
  • Sell Online:  We could augment our Thrift Store sales with an online presence.  This would entail computer work as well as shipping tasks.
